Both single and multi-celled organisms embrace a functional unit of life, known as “Cells”. Both of them consist of plasma membrane and cytoplasm. They carry similar features by containing DNA and ribosomes for the gene expression.
There are several similarities and distinctions between unicellular and multicellular creatures. The following are some similarities between the two:
1.One significant similarity between unicellular and multicellular creatures is that both are composed of cells.
2. The genetic codes of the two creatures are identical; both types of cells include DNA as hereditary material. A DNA sequence from a unicellular creature may be duplicated by a multicellular organism, and vice versa.
3. Cell membranes are the same in unicellular and multicellular species. The cell membrane is formed of phospholipids and contains many types of proteins.
4. Both organisms also have ribosomes in their cells. The ribosomes are responsible for the synthesis of proteins. Both cells synthesis proteins.
5. Both type of organisms have to obtain energy and nutrients to sustain their growth and energy.
