Respuesta :

The saturated adiabatic lapse rate is less than the unsaturated adiabatic lapse rate because, release of latent heat warms the local environment.

Lapse rate can  be defined as  the rate it which temperature decreases increasing in altitude. Lapse rates are three types saturated adiabatic lapse rate, unsaturated (moist) adiabatic lapse rate and environmental lapse rate. The decay rate is the rate at which an atmospheric variable (usually the temperature of the Earth's atmosphere) decreases with altitude. Lapse Rate comes from the word Lapse, which means gradual decline. In dry air, the adiabatic decay rate is 9.8 °C/km.
