Mesosphere. The mantle in the area below the lithosphere and asthenosphere but above the outer core is referred to as the mesosphere.
Between the narrow crust and the planet's dense, extremely hot core is the mantle. A staggering 84% of the total volume of the Earth is made up of the mantle, which is roughly 2,900 kilometres (1,802 miles) thick.
At a depth of around 2900 km, the mantle extends to the interface between the core and the mantle. Thus, the lower portions of the lithosphere, asthenosphere, and mesosphere are found in the mantle. The top layer of the lithosphere makes up the crust.
