Respuesta :

The embryo created when the egg and sperm combine will inherit the genetic characteristics of both parents.

Sperm and ovum fusing together is known as fertilization. Sperm cells that reach the ovum lose their tails, preventing further sperm from doing the same. The sperm head is haploid and will merge with the female pronucleus to generate a male pronucleus. Both will create a zygote embryo nucleus, which in the uterus will develop into an embryo that will produce a fetus.

The zygote nucleus, which was created by the fusion of ovum and sperm cells, contains half the set of chromosomes that the fetus has. The baby's entire set of chromosomes, which determines its genetic characteristics, is made up of the half set of ovum and sperm cells. Thus, the child inherits genetic characteristics from both parents. half the mother's DNA and half the father's DNA
