Respuesta :

When the egg and sperm form an embryo, the resulting offspring will have the genetic traits of both parents.

Fertilization is the fusion of sperm and ovum. Sperm cells that enter the ovum will lose their tails and block other sperm from entering. The sperm head is haploid to form a male pronucleus which will fuse with the female pronucleus. Both will form a zygote nucleus which will grow into an embryo in the uterus that becomes a fetus.

The fetus has half the set of chromosomes from ovum and sperm cells that previously fused to form the zygote nucleus. The half set of ovum and sperm cells will make up the complete set of chromosomes in the baby which gives the baby its genetic traits. Therefore the baby has genetic traits from both parents. Half the DNA from the mother, half the DNA from the father.
