Who is John Wycliffe?
John Wycliffe or John Wyclif was an English theologian, scholar, and priest. He is one of many forerunner during Protestant Reformation in Europe and become an English reformer.
He theologian and studied in Oxford. He was known for his objection to Church's abuses and Church hierarchy because he believe the supreme authority is Christian scriptures not the pope.
He also was known because his theology about Church that he clearly divide Church to two domain which is an ideal Church and earth Church. That the earth Church has strayed from ideal Church.
But, he chief target is the doctrine of transubstantiation of the bread and wine of communion into the body and blood of Jesus.
