She injured herself while on a trip to the Reservation, but she was found and saved by the Indians, who carried her to the village where she has resided ever since. Tomakin was the name of his father, who was also from the Other Place. Realizes that "Tomakin" is actually Thomas, the Director, Bernard keeps quiet for the time being.
