Answer:
The United States will take any form of invasion or colony building by European nations in the Western Hemisphere (Americas) as an attack on herself.
Explanation:
The Monroe Doctrine is defined by the passage that is stated. The Monroe Doctrine, put forth by President Monroe, is the basis for the creation of the United State's sphere of influence in the Americas. The Monroe Doctrine is based on 3 main points:
1) The United States would not get involved in European affairs. The United States was able to keep up this policy (and later policy of isolation) until World War I with the US entering the European war on the Allied side after the sinking of the Lusitania and the Zimmermann Telegram, before defaulting back to their policy of isolation until the surprise attack of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. From that day forward, the US discarded her old policies for a globalist policy.
2) The United States will not interfere with any existing European colonies. The United States only seek to provide protection for existing free 'states' as well as any independent colonies that break away successfully from their European counterparts.
3) Europeans are not allowed to create new colonies in the Americas. If they did try to invade, the United States would see the attack as if on her own homeland, and would come to the aid of said country.
