G1 Phase: active transcription and translation, S Phase: replicated DNA, G2 phase: protein synthesis for proteins necessary to perform cell division.

What happens inside a growing eukaryotic cell during g1 phase, s phase, g2 phase of the cell cycle?

During G1, cell is metabolically active and continuously grows but does not replicate its DNA.

In S phase, cell synthesizes a complete copy of the DNA in its nucleus and it also duplicates a microtubule-organizing structure called as centrosome. Centrosomes helps in separation of DNA during M phase.

In G2 phase, cell replenishes energy stores and synthesizes proteins necessary for chromosome manipulation.
