- It will take time for your body to begin producing new red blood cells after you begin taking Epogen (epoetin alfa). In most cases, haemoglobin levels will rise after 2 to 6 weeks.
- EPO therapy increases the production of red blood cells in the body, which helps treat anaemia. You should feel better and have more energy as a result.
