Sometimes, the terms "writer" and "author" are used interchangeably. It's possible that even seasoned writers and well-known writers won't be able to tell the difference between the two. - Simply said, a writer is a person who engages in the writing process. If you spend your time writing novels, novelettes, or short stories, you are a writer. If writing in your journal or outlining your upcoming project is part of your morning writing routine, you are a writer.
- You're still a writer even if the subject and central idea of your work came from someone else if you're a journalist, ghostwriter, blogger, or screenwriter. Even writing original material is not a must for writers. Technically, whether or not their work is published, a writer is anyone who writes.
