Mutualism is a type of symbiotic relationship where all species involved depend and benefit from their interactions.  mutualism is can be  broken down into two types of relationship in some cases, where the species are entirely dependent on each other, it is called obligate mutualism and where they derive benefits from their relationship but could survive without each other is called facultative mutualism.
