This is a walkaway which cuts through the audience seating area to connect the stage with the back of the theatre. Supernatural beings and magicians usually make their entrances from trap doors in the hanamichi. Some stages have seventeen trapdoors.
In short, the Kabuki stage is equipped with several gadgets, such as revolving stages and trapdoors through which the actors can appear and disappear.
