foreshadowing is when you can tell something will happen before it does sort of like hints
1. Oedipus was a stubborn and blind man that could not accept the truth as his name meant "swollen foot" which gave the clue to his identity- As he was stolen from the house of Laius as a youngling and was then left on the mountain with his feet bound together.
Foreshadowing: When he was cast off and left in the mountains with his ankles bound together. Leaving lifelong scars. Aka his name meaning swollen foot symbolizes Oedipus entrapment. He was confined at birth and confined by fate. (Apollo's Prophecy)

2. Tiresias tells Oedipus the truth when Oedipus pushes him. As the king theme it a trick brought up by Creon, which then intrigued him to pursue the truth. Thus bring about his own tragic end.
Foreshadowing: Oedipus say "Whoever committed the crime will be punished and banished." (A lot of dramatic irony don't you think?)

3. When Oedipus spoke to Chorus, Oedipus said: "Justly said, but no man earth can force the gods to what they will not."
Foreshadowing: The gods have already decided Oedipus' fate, and that is when he realized that h cannot avoid fate later on.
