It does not allow the government to handle the important needs such as common currency or taxes on trade goods. Not to mention that because of their Articles of Confederation they cannot elect a chief executive or one official leader
Two weaknesses of the articles of confederation is that:
1. For a law to pass, 9 out of 13 states would have to approve it, which is almost impossible. And even if the law does get approved, the government could not enforce it.
