First do distrubutive property
-(x+4)=-8
Multiply the parenthesis by the invisible -1 in the front
: -x-4=-8
Now add 4 to both sides
-x=-4
then divide -1 by both sides
x=4 is your answer

Hi
- 8 = - ( x + 4)
-8 = -x - 4
Flip the equation
-x - 4 = -8
-x = -8 + 4
-x = -4
Divide both sides by -1
-x/-1 = -4/-1
x = 4
Good luck :)
