So, for U.S shirts , let the number of shirts = x

So, total charge : y = 0.25x + 5

And for hot shirts, let the number of shirts = x

So, total charge : y = 0.35 x + 2

We need to find the number of shirts when the charges are equal

So,

$0.35x+2=0.25x+5$

solve for x, combine the like terms :

$\begin{gathered} 0.35x-0.25x=5-2 \\ 0.1x=3 \\ \\ x=\frac{3}{0.1}=30 \end{gathered}$
