From the picture above, the black line respresents rise and the blue line represents run.

You can see the points we selected. (8, -2) and (2, -6)

The slope becomes

Substituting the values, we have

[tex]\begin{gathered} m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} \\ m=\frac{-6-(-2)_{}_{}}{2_{}-8_{}} \\ m=\frac{-6+2}{-6} \\ m=\frac{-4}{-6} \\ m=\frac{2}{3} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Hence, the slope is
