EXPLANATION:
When we start a new item and after reading the first part we realize that we have no idea how to go about answering it, we have to use available hints. Hints help us to memorize and remember what we learn and connect the concepts. By connecting, remembering, and memorizing the concepts in the reading study, we can easily answer it as the best as we can. Thus, that is how hints work, helping us to get a better understanding of our reading so that we can answer the question easily, quickly, and correctly.
Besides using available hints, we could also use other ways to get a better understanding of reading. Here is the list:
• When we lost on reading and get confused about everything, don’t quit immediately, but keep on reading.
• Find which part of the reading that we have to understand. If we read, just to find the general idea, it is not important to understand all of the passages. Yet, if the reading is about what the teacher wants us to understand, we have to understand all of the passages and the underlying idea.
• Put more attention to the examples given in the reading. It will help us to understand the idea of the whole passages.
• Look up for important words. If we find words that we don’t know the meaning of it, better to stop the reading for a while and find the meaning of the word in the dictionary. More simply, we can read the whole sentences, including the words we don’t know and try to figure out the meaning of it.
• Give sign in the part of the reading that we don’t understand yet. When we finish the reading, we can go back to that part and read it again and again until we understand it.
