1. This is called mid-ocean ridge; Mid-ocean ridge is an underwater mountain system that is formed by plate tectonics and it is responsible for the spreading of the seafloor.
2. The process here is called plate tectonics; Plate Tectonics is the rock area within the lithosphere that push away from each other the older they get.
3. This process is similar to the process before; when the new molten arises the old oceanic crust that was once there would be pushed farther back along with plate tectonics.
4. Ocean floor spreading is the process where new oceanic crust is forming. This is caused by the upwelling of magma at the mid-ocean ranges.
Evidence the supports this would include samples of the oceanic crust and overlying sediment that scientists have found to support the sea floor spreading theory. Other Evidence would include drilling samples and studying over magnetic stripes.
5. This is called an Ocean Trench - It occurs when two oceanic plates converge forming a subduction zone. It's also important to know that an Ocean Trench is the deepest part of an ocean floor.
