the diagonals of a parallelogram will always bisect each other
thismeans the point formed in the middle will always be the midpoint of each diagonal.

[tex]5y-8=y+24[/tex][tex]5y-y=24+8[/tex][tex]4y=32[/tex][tex]y=\frac{32}{4}[/tex][tex]y=8[/tex]then
x=4
y=8
