To find the area of the shaded region we have to:

Find the area of the outer trapezoid and then substract the area of the inner trapezoid.

B.

The area of a trapezoid is given as:

[tex]A=\frac{1}{2}(b_1+b_2)h[/tex]

where b1 is the greater bae, b2 is the smaller base and h is the height.

The outer trapezoid has a greater base of 6 units, smaller base of 2 units and height of 6 units, then its area is:

[tex]A_O=\frac{1}{2}(6+2)6=24[/tex]

The inner trapezoid has a greater base of 4 units, smaller base of 2 units and height of 3 units, then its area is:

[tex]A_I=\frac{1}{2}(4+2)3=9[/tex]

Therefore the area of the shaded figure is 15 squared units.
