We want to find the sum of the following functions

[tex]\begin{gathered} f(x)=3x^2+2x-1 \\ g(x)=x^2-3x+1 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Since those functions are both polynomials, we just need to operate with the corresponding coefficients.

[tex]\begin{gathered} f(x)+g(x)=(3x^2+2x-1)+(x^2-3x+1) \\ =3x^2+2x-1+x^2-3x+1 \\ =3x^2+x^2+2x-3x-1+1 \\ =(3^{}+1)x^2+(2-3)x+(-1+1) \\ =4x^2-x+0 \\ =4x^2-x \end{gathered}[/tex]

And this is our answer.
