This person is a Greek philosopher and mystic who wrote numerous biblical style writings with Neoplatonic overtones which he signed as Dionysius Areopagite.
However, later it was possible to identify that these writings did not come from the recognized saint but from another writer of the 5th century.
Due to his habitual way of signing his writings with the name of Dionysus, perhaps to give it greater relevance or authenticity, later historians called him Pseudo-Dionysus, because his real name remains anonymous.
