The Evolution of Species is a much-discussed topic in Biology. Thus, some terms and theories try to explain how evolution occurred.
There are two theories that are much studied. The first is the theory of the scientist Lamarck, who stated that the environment caused adaptation in beings and thus they evolved. The second theory is that of Charles Darwin who defended the idea that the environment selected the aptest living beings for that environment.
Therefore, we can define the terms as:
• Survival of the fittest is the theory that the environment selects those who can survive in those conditions because they have characteristics that ensure their survival.
• Adaptation occurs when an animal (for example) adapts to its environment to ensure its survival.
• Evolution is the constant change that occurs in the interaction of living beings with the environment to benefit their survival.
