Find the length of the third side of the right triangle. Give an exact answer and anapproximation to three decimal places if needed.(Simplify your answer. Type an integer or a decimal.)

By pythagorus theorem we know that in a right triangle
[tex]\text{hypotenuse}^2=perpendicular^2+base^2[/tex]Now in our question we have :-
Hypotenuse=17 and perpendicular =15
So
[tex]\begin{gathered} 17^2=15^2+b^2 \\ b^2=289-225 \\ b^2=64 \\ b=\sqrt[]{64} \\ b=8 \end{gathered}[/tex]So the third side of the triangle would be 8 units
