The Law of Superposition—the age of an object may be determined by the depth at which it is found, the deeper the object is in the Earth, the older it is.

Gives scientist an exact age of a rock fossil.

Scientist use their knowledge of the half-life of carbon and uranium isotopes to measure the age of the rock or fossil .

Used to determine the age of an object, when there is no record of a living thing.
Gives the approximate age of a fossil or artifact.

Used by scientist to determine the age of a fossil or artifact.

Estimates the order of geological or prehistoric events, but cannot be used to determine when these events have occurred.

Measures the decay of a rock or fossil to measure the age.

Can someone tell me which is RELATIVE DATING and which is ABSOLUTE DATING and what are the SIMILARITIES

First guess at this ... Various layers of rock etc are a record of events. On the "last in first out" queuing theory idea, the top layers are the most recent RELATIVE to the bottom layers.

Radio carbon and general "RadioIsotope" dating are used to provide dates in various artefacts and geology. I'm not sure I'd call it ABSOLUTE, though, 'cos I think that carbon dating works backwards Relative to the date at which the test is done.
