Hi! I have a question I am solving the equation 5x+10+6x=180. I have found x and it equals 15.454545 and it continues. I estimated it to be 15.5 but I have a problem once I add and multiply what I need I get 180.5 how would I get 180?

Respuesta :

Solve for x:

[tex]5x+10+6x=180[/tex]

Solve using inverse operations to solve equations, addition and subtraction are inverse operations, multiplication, and division too.

Therefore,

[tex]\begin{gathered} 11x+10=180 \\ 11x=180-10 \\ x=\frac{170}{11} \\ x=15.45454545 \end{gathered}[/tex]

In this case, since the x-value is a periodic number, to get 180 you must use it with all the decimals
