Describe and correct the error made in finding the intercepts of the graph of the equation.

Given the equation :
[tex]4x+10y=20[/tex]To find x - intercept substitute with y = 0
So,
[tex]\begin{gathered} 4x+10\cdot0=20 \\ 4x=20 \\ \\ x=\frac{20}{4}=5 \end{gathered}[/tex]So, x - intercept is ( 5 , 0 )
Note : the error is replacing the values of each other
To find y - intercept , substitute with x = 0
So,
[tex]\begin{gathered} 4\cdot0+10y=20 \\ 10y=20 \\ \\ y=\frac{20}{10}=2 \end{gathered}[/tex]So, y -intercept is ( 0 , 2 )
So, the answer is :
x - intercept = ( 5 , 0 )
y - intercept = ( 0 , 2 )
