Step 1: Write out the form of the equation of the table given

The equation of the line is a linear function with the form

[tex]\begin{gathered} y_1=ax_1+b \\ \text{where} \\ y_1\text{represent the Weight} \\ x_1\text{represent the length} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Step 2: Plot the graph to get the value of a and b

From the graph above

[tex]\begin{gathered} a=4.35714 \\ b=-156.143 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Step 3: Write out the line of best fit by substituting the values of a and b

[tex]y_1=4.35714x_1-156.143[/tex]

Step 4: Predict the weight of a sand shark whose length is 75 inches

[tex]\begin{gathered} \text{when x}_1=75 \\ y_1=4.35714(75)-156.143 \\ y_1=326.7855-156.143 \\ y_1=170.6421 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Hence, the weight of a sand shark whose length is 75 inches is approximately 171
