2. 1) Estimate Ling needs to purchase some gas so that she can mow her lawn. At the station she fills a container with 1.1 gallons of gas. The station charges $2.4710 per gallon. a. How much will Ling spend on gas? Round your answer to the nearest cent. b. Explain how to use estimation to check whether your answer is reasonable.

You can use a rule of three to get the value of 1.1 gallons:

$\frac{1.1\cdot2,4710}{1}=2,7181\approx2,72$Ling spend $2,72 on gas

b. If the gas stattion charges $2.4710 per gallon and Ling needs 1.1 gallons the cost of those 1.1gallons has to be higher than the cost of a gallon but since the exedente is only 0.1 gallon, the cost should not rise much to that of a gallon. Then so $2.72 (the cost of 1.1 gallons) is higher than $2.4710(the cost of 1 gallon) but just by $0.24(has to be the approximate cost of 0.1 gallons)
