The events that turned the previously free Basarwa San Bushmen of Botswana in Africa into communities dependent on food aid and government handouts when bushmen were relocated from the wilderness where they lived into government-provided communities. Bushmen are hunters whose skill is survival in the wild. When they are relocated into the community they cannot hunt as they used to, they are forced to live in a modern environment, so they depend on food aid from the government.
The free Basarwa San Bushmen of Botswana are the members of various indigenous people lives in territories span Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Lesotho and South Africa. They are skillful hunters who live semi-nomadic lives and survive in an environment where no one can survive.
