1) Considering that the coefficient of the x term is a fraction, we need to multiply both sides by another so that we keep with x on the left side.

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{3}{4}x=12 \\ \frac{4}{3}\times\frac{3}{4}x=12\times\frac{4}{3} \\ x=16 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Note that, since we must always multiply or divide both sides when we do that we end up solving for x.
