The various important elements of needs assessment are initiation, data collection and its analysis and the final product.
The first step that is initiation begins with identification of the limiting factors that is factors which are in less number or shortage, for the needs assessment project, the organization being analyzed, and the project stakeholders. Data collection and analysis is followed after the initiation stage. During this stage, the PEST tests are performed which includes political, economic, social, and technological analysis and hence it identifies the SWOT parameters that is strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis and accordingly collection of the data. The final phase of the needs assessment is the production of final product. It includes the summary of the experimental results and their inferences, the migration strategy detailing which determines the forces that should be strengthened and those restraining forces which should be limited because of their negative effects on the product, and which may also affect the marketing and sales and a final report which includes all the recommendations and future course of actions to be performed.
