Use synthetic division to determine whether the first expression is a factor of the second

To do the synthetic division we need to use the coefficients of the polynomial:
[tex]4x^3-3x^2-7x+6[/tex]which are: 4, -3, -7, and 6, and the zero of the next polynomial:
[tex]x-2[/tex]which is 2.
Synthetic division
Given that the remainder, 12, is not zero, then (x - 2) is not a factor of the degree 3 polynomial.
