Using pythagoras theorem;

$\begin{gathered} |AB|^2=|AD|^2+|BD|^2 \\ h^2=110^2+60^2 \\ h=125.3ft \end{gathered}$

Using similar triangles;

$\begin{gathered} \frac{123.3}{60+x}=\frac{60}{125.3} \\ 15700=3600+60x \\ 60x=12100 \\ x=201.7 \end{gathered}$

The distance from the beach tree to the cherry tree is;

$\begin{gathered} x+60=201.7+60 \\ x+60=261.7 \\ |BC|\approx262ft \end{gathered}$
