- Climax: the conflict is resolved, and the life lesson learned by the protagonist becomes clear.
- Exposition: the beginning of a story, in which you are introduced to the characters and the setting.
- Rising action: the part of a story where the conflict increases and the tension or suspense builds
- Resolution: the protagonist faces the consequences of their decision in the turning point
- Falling action: the turning point of a story where the protagonist makes a decision to resolve the conflict.

A rising action can be defined as an element of a plot which comprises series of related events that build interest and leads toward its climax.
This ultimately implies that, the events in a story is increased and becomes more complicated, and then the conflict is revealed by a rising action, thereby, creating the following actions in the mind of a reader:

- Struggle
- Suspense
- Tension
