What challenges do you think the Founding Fathers faced in creating a government that was powerful enough to create laws, protect liberty, and govern a vast nation, yet not so powerful that it could force its will upon the people? How would you solve this challenge?

Answer:

It has taken years to create, and they are still trying to get it right. At first, the anti-federalists thought that the constitution was too powerful. They wanted more rights reserved for the individual person. This is when James Madison wrote the first 10 amendments to the constitution, which we now know as the Bill of Rights. These amendments protect certain rights we have today, like the right to keep and bear arms (2nd amendment) and how rights not reserved for the federal government are reserved for the states (10th amendment)

I would solve this problem by looking at the view of the people then comparing it to the view of the government. Then you can point our the similarities and differences. Based on what I found with that, then I can make a decision that is reasonable for both sides.
