It basically said Flynn and Jimmy Blake came before Casey in the batting order and they weren't that good. It also said the crowd wasn't happy two other people were batting before Casey ("stricken multitude grim melancholy sat") since Casey wouldn't be able to bat. I'm guessing because the outs were at 2 or 1 I'm not sure.
