am a geologist. I’m hoping to take some pictures of glaciers for my collection. I might even want to take pictures of rock formations. Where shall I go? (Piedmont) old eroded mountains

Respuesta :

You may go to Glacier National Park in Montana, USA.

Because the area's structural complexity is minimal and formations are typically simple to recognize, the geology surrounding Glacier National Park is excellent for novices. Even so, there is much to be enthusiastic about. The sea basin is where the Belt rocks were initially deposited. Paleozoic rocks were then deposited, but because they have been worn away, they are not visible in Glacier National Park. Then, Mesozoic rocks were laid down, notably the Cretaceous sandstones and shales of the Western Interior Seaway. The Ice Age began around 2 Ma, and the massive glaciers that shaped the peaks into their present forms are how we derive the name of the park. Around 12,000 years ago, the last of these massive glaciers melted.

There are formations named Altyn (and Prichard), Appekunny, Grinnell, Empire, Helena (or Siyeh), Snowslip, and Shepard that range in age from elderly to young.
