Many years ago, a young man named
Bellerophon, a fine horseman with a spirited
nature, resided in the city-state of Corinth. The
slow-paced lifestyle did not suit Bellerophon.
so he set off to find adventure in faraway
lands. During his travels he managed to
severely offend a king, who banished him to
the land of Lycia. There, Bellerophon was
tasked with slaying the Chimera, a beast with
the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and the
tail of a dragon.
Bellerophon consulted a well-known oracle.

The latter scenario would imply that Bellerophon and Pegasus were related through their father, but that was never the most intriguing aspect of the narrative surrounding the two of them.

Bellerophon was daydreaming about adventures while Pegasus was taking it easy with the Muses. Looking For them, he encountered Proteus, the ancient sea deity and the king of Lycia's son-in-law.

Bellerophon believed in their friendship and failed to see Proteus's resentment or his friend's plot to kill him. Bellerophon was dispatched with a sealed letter to his in-laws by Proteus, who was aware of his spirit of adventure.

Bellerophon learned upon his arrival in Lycia that the creature known as Chimera, which had a lion's head and a dragon's tail, ravaged the community every night, stealing children, women, and livestock before leaving their bones by the mountain.

According to the story of Pegasus and Bellerophon, Bellerophon had tamed Pegasus to be his own rider horse. He took Pegasus to different places for adventure which clearly shows that they shared great bonding.

This line- "Bellerophon found he was not content though with the adoration of the people, he rode Pegasus to Mount Olympus, the home of the gods to receive their admiration" shows that Pegasus trusted Bellerophon otherwise who would take their horse to the place of Gods.
