The time I would have been a better listener would be periods in the classroom.

What happened during these periods?

Some of the days during a lecture I would find out that my thoughts have wandered outside of the classroom and from what was being taught. By the time I realized this most of the time, the instructor must have made some very important points in the classroom.

I believe that it is best to communicate in a way that people can understand you. That should be the number 1 goal of communication. Remember you are passing a message across, and your goal is to have the recipients understand what it is you are saying.
