What is science?

Science refers to a body of knowledge which seeks to understand the universe by the use of experiments. As such science is empirical and depends largely on the use of mathematics to explain its points.

1) In the explanation of scientific phenomena, mathematics offers the model  upon which the explanation van be based and models predicted based on the experiment made.

2) We need data in science in order to understudy phenomena and thus develop a plausible explanation for them.

3) We determine if data is appropriate by fitting the data into the mathematical models that we have developed to explain a phenomena.
