He was a man with perfect mind setup and he always complete his goals and he never accepts failure in his life. He was a man of faith, seeing himself as called to spread the faith to the new lands he discovered.

2. Why did Columbus believe he was in Asia?

Christopher Columbus thought that he was in Asia when he landed in the New World because he did not know that there was land between Europe and Asia when sailing west. In fact, the only other people to visit either American continent was Leif Erikson along with the Vikings.

3. Can you discover Columbus's motives for making his journey?

Columbus wants to discover a new route to India, China, Japan and the Spice Islands. If he could reach these lands, he would be able to bring back rich cargoes of silks and spices.
