Who is the protagonist of the story?

• She is a girl named Waverly Jong.
• She is a child prodigy.
• She is an extremely talented child at playing chess.

Waverly Jong is a national chess champion and her mother deal them very proud of it and fears that she will lose that title at any moment, for this reason, she controls her daughter very intensely, making her uncomfortable and without enjoying her childhood.

Waverly Jong likes to play chess but hates the control applied to her. Her biggest wish is to be able to play in a free way, without the limits that her mother imposes and taking into account her wishes.
