The Reconstruction was one that that redefined U.S. citizenship but it did not do a lot of justice to equality because there were still segregation in schools, jobs and also the presence of differences between political and economic democracy.

Did the Civil War create a more equal society?

The Civil War is one that was said to have a huge effect on the nation, and also that of  its people.

To be able to get freedom and equality for the nation, the soldiers were said to have to have fought, and the battle is known to be Civil War. The Civil War altered the history of the nation's beliefs in regards to equality and freedom for all, and this war was said to be the solution for that.

Therefore, the conclusion is that Civil War and Reconstruction did make significant progress toward creating a more equal society were there was no segregation, rights to vote as well as others.
