When there is a difference between a goal and the actual outcome, this is known as a(n):   problem

Goals and Outcomes :

Every program should know where it is coming from (goals and objectives) and what it is trying to accomplish (outcomes).

Without the direction of goals and objectives there can be no outcomes because outcomes are specific and measurable aspects of your organization’s goals and objectives.  All of these measurable items should be determined during your organization’s planning process.

The Problem with Outcome Goals :

When you become too focused on the result you want to achieve, you can actually program yourself into a negative mindset. For example: If your goal is to lose 20 pounds and you become consumed with that goal, you subconsciously tell yourself “I won't be happy until I lose 20 pounds”

Why are outcome goals important?

Performance goals allow the athlete to focus in on details of the performance, not just winning and losing. An outcome goal helps the performer to focus on the big picture of what they are trying to achieve.
