These acts were slave acts that enabled the continuation of slavery in the United States. The Fugitive slave act was the act that was intended that the run away slaves be captured and returned back to the states while the Dred Scot decision had the supreme court ruling that abolishing slavery was illegal in the country.

What were the issues that caused the civil war?

The issues that brought about this war was because the people of the North were against the continuation of slavery in the South of the United States. This was a decision that angered the south hence they preferred to leave the union.

The south used slaves as the means of getting labor to work on their large plantation farms till it was abolished by the president Lincoln.
