Disasters exist severe disruptions to the functioning of a society that exceeds its ability to cope by utilizing its own resources. Disasters can be generated by natural, man-made, and technological threats, as well as different factors that influence the exposure and vulnerability of a community.
Natural and human-caused disasters influence thousands of individuals each year. Major adverse events such as these have the potential to generate a catastrophic loss of life and physical collapse. They exist often unpredictable and can leave whole communities in shock.
The type of disasters which my community facing are as follows,
- Floods
- Wildfires
- Earthquakes
- Drought
Floods exist as the most frequent kind of natural disaster and emerge when an overflow of water inundates usually dry land. Floods exist often driven by heavy rainfall, rapid snowmelt, or a storm surge from a tropical cyclone or tsunami in coastal areas.
A wildfire, forest fire, bushfire, wildland fire, or rural fire exists as an unplanned, disorderly, and unexpected fire in an area of combustible vegetation beginning in rural and urban areas. Some forest ecosystems in their natural state rely on wildfire.
Earthquake stands a word used to describe both sudden slip on a fault, and the resultant ground shaking and radiated seismic energy generated by the slip, or by volcanic or magmatic activity, or other impulsive stress differences in the earth.
A drought exists as an event of extended deficiencies in the water supply, whether atmospheric, surface water, or groundwater. A drought can last for months or years or may be revealed after as few as 15 days.
From superficial donations such as food and water to medical and psychological care, and more, we can assist rebuild and support others to bring back to their normal lives in the path of adversity. Usually, the most effective way to support victims of a natural disaster or emergency exists to donate to a disaster relief organization.
