If 1st and 4th term of G.P is 500 and 32 respectively, hence;

T1 = ar^0 = 500

T3 = ar^3 = 32

From both expressions, the first term a = 500

Substitute into equation 2

ar^3 = 32

500r^3 = 32

r^3 = 32/500

r = ∛32/500
r = 0.4

Determine the second term

T2 = 500(0.4)

T2 = 200

Hence the second term of sequence is 200
